Rd 5 MNWFL

Round 5 ( last minor round) of the MNWFL last night saw the Tigers v Brookies in a very one sided game.
The match of the round was played prior to our game. Joeys v Ports ( 1 v 3 ) and it was a tight and physical contest that saw Joeys get up by a goal kicked in the last 5 minutes of the game. I think most Tiger players and supporters were happy to watch them bash each other around seeing as we would play the winner in the GF.
Back to our game.. with almost a full team for the night excluding T Nettle who was still out with we think a veterans injury, and Corrie Neilson who pulled up sore from her rucking debut, the girls were pumped for a big night....
And a big goal scoring night it was. H Gaunt and R Kretch bagged 4 and could have smashed the leading goal kicker title for the season, but it’s a team game and coach Mickey O set the challenge for every player to get on the score sheet. This proved easier said than done for one player in the team, hey Moni! I think she heard if she was the only one without a goal, a lap of the oval in her undies was inevitable.
Koby Nettle looked pretty in pink last night as the umpire and copped a few unruly comments from friendly fire on the sidelines. Must have been a Collingwood supporter! Thanks Koby awesome job! Pitty goal umpired for us and was kept busy with arm exercises, waving 10 goals in the First Qtr.
With the Brookies struggling for numbers unfortunately it turned into a training run for the Tigers. Final scores Tigers 23.18 v Brookies 0.0.
Hold on to your heart pills because next week is the Grand Final. Tigers v Joeys @8:15 next Friday night. Get around the girls, who have fought hard and shown the true tiger spirit to make the GF in their debut year. Thanks to Karen and Rob Meaney who have run water and helped out each week. I also would like to thank Kel Zwar for her help and the team manager and report writer. Oh shit that’s me 😂
